Just a Few Updates from July

We're so excited to start the school year soon! Our team has been cooking up lots of plans to get out on campus, increase our visibility, and start meeting all the fresh faces for the beginning of school.

What is Welcome Week?

In next month's update, you'll hear me talk about "Welcome Week" so I thought I'd tell you a bit of what that means. Welcome Week is really two weeks per campus. It's the week before school starts where freshmen are moving in and participating in various orientation sessions and then the first week of school, which has the highest foot traffic of the whole year. Our goal during these weeks is to treat them like a mission trip. We ask our student leaders to commit as much time to being on campus as they possibly can (which they do so generously). We talk a lot about casting our nets wide here - trying to start conversations with anyone and everyone, looking out for people who might have some downtime. We do this by playing board games in the union, setting up bigger events to invite people to, and simply asking to sit with people for a bit and get to know them. A staple principle in our ministry is "one-on-one is how it's done", so we work to find a balance between eye-catching events and making individual connections so people feel known. Honestly, these weeks are a bear to organize, a blast to do, and leave everyone exhausted in the best way.

Would you join me in praying that these weeks would be a success by God's design? We want to make space for the people God wants to draw closer to Him and His community so they can know how much God loves them.

Licensing Ceremony

Last night, we had our licensing ceremony for our incoming apprentices and for our senior staff making commitments to stay rooted in this calling. Our staff staggers commitments so not everyone is reconsidering at the same time. I got to recommit to two more years of campus ministry! I'm so excited to see what God does in the next two years ad beyond!

We're so excited to welcome this group of apprentices!

Fundraising Update

I am 88% to my goal! This is really encouraging to me, and I appreciate each of you who has been able to give and pray for that. If you are interested in helping me cover the last $6,000 for the year, please reach out!

Owen Turned 3!

We love this sweet boy so much and can't wait to see him become the best big brother in a couple months.

Love y'all!
